TECTONIC GEOMORPHOLOGY OF THE KARANGSAMBUNG AREA, CENTRAL JAVA, INDONESIA

Karangsambung, located in Central Java, Indonesia has complex geological conditions of the tectonic evolution Java Island due to subduction process India-Australia plate with Eurasian Cretaceous-Paleocene. The movements zone have resulted diverse structures and rock types impact morphological shape study area. level activity area can be determined using a geomorphological approach. A digital elevation model geographic information systems are used for geomorphic data processing. Geological observations were also carried out form river terraces. Seven index parameters been calculated determine youngest through relative (IAT) area: ratio valley floor width height, drainage basin asymmetry, gradient-length index, mountain front sinuosity, density, hypsometric integral/hypsometric curve. IAT score is divided into four classes which class 1 (0%) very highly, 2 (13%) 3 (56%) moderately, 4 (31%) low. shows that research categorized as an active so morphology formed more influenced by than erosion. analysis on uplifted deformed terrace outcrops affected neotectonic activity.
